Stepping on to the 40th year has never been better for Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School. The celebration of the Ruby Jubilee got even more special when ABP ANANDA bestowed the Rector of the school, Mr. Wilson Gidla with an award “ Leading International School in North Kolkata” on 27th June,2024 at Swabhumi, Kolkata. The event was a star studded one. The Education Minister, Bratya Basu graced the occasion with this esteemed presence. Mr. Sujit Kumar Bose, Ex Vice Chancellor of Viswa Bharati University, and Mr. Anindya Chatterjee , film director and lead singer of Bengali Band Chandrabindoo presented the prestigious award to our dear Rector Sir, Mr. Wilson Gidla. It was high time that the school got recognised for all it has given to the community for the last 39 years. Our school is widely known for its academic excellence, co- curricular achievements, and social contributions through charitable initiatives. The school was founded by Rev. Dr. G.V. Prasada Rao and his wife Mrs. Suseela Rao and their legacy of leadership, their vision of educating children from various rungs of society and powerful ministry are being continued and taken forward by Mr. Wilson Gidla and his team of able and efficient educators/ leaders. We extend our heartfelt and sincere gratitude to all our teachers, parents and students for making this day possible in the history of DMHSS. Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary school organised the most awaited event of the year Enchantia 2022. There were 350 varieties of roses exhibited in the Rose Fest. The roses that were displayed here were of unique colours. There were roses with colours as exclusive as Coffee brown, Green, Blue, Lavender and believe it or not, even Black. These varieties were imported from various countries of the world. It is remarkable to say that the beautiful roses attracted as many as 60,000 people on the Christmas Eve. Kudos to the entire Douglas family for such a conspicuous and outstanding show!
